A state-of-the-art company

Chongqing Environmental Sanitation Group Co., Ltd is located in Chongqing and is part of the Chinese Remediation & Environmental Cleanup Services Industry. The company has a total of 3,500 employees across its locations, and handles a staggering 17,000 tonnes of waste per day. It is a company widely recognized for its great expertise in the recycling of solid waste, and has solid skills and experience in implementing complex projects. In recent years, Chongqing Environmental Sanitation Group Co. has built three new recycling plants to keep up with demand – CESG Jieshi, Zouma and Xiajiaba – which have all been completed and are ready to be put into operation. M&J has had the honour of delivering shredders to all three plants.

Clear requirements for function and performance

From the very beginning, Chongqing Environmental Sanitation Group Co. defined a series of specific requirements for the shredders they wanted to buy for the new plants. The biggest challenge was that all MSW had to be shredded to sizes of under 200 mm, while the output had to remain at around 15 tonnes per hour. In other words – great shredding power combined with high performance. M&J chose to equip the robust M&J PreShred 4000S with
10 Samurai knives and a power of 2x132 KW. This was the perfect solution for working through bulky waste like mattresses, sofas and cabinets – a source of challenges and costly downtime in many plants. Today, the shredder is constantly fed via a long metal conveyor, effectively shredding all fractions into manageable sizes that are then sorted and sent on for recycling.
