Ahlström's CEO, Jyrki Vainionpää visited M&J
On Thursday June 6th, Ahlström's CEO, Jyrki Vainionpää visited M&J’s headquarter in Horsens.
Jyrki Vainionpää joined Ahlström (M&J's owner) as CEO in December 2023, and this was his first time to visit M&J Recycling in Denmark, where M&J’s CFO, John Terkelsen and Director of Operations, Karsten Holk, took Jyrki on a guided tour around the factory and the administration at the headquarter.
“It was nice to visit M&J, see the large factory, and not the least to meet and shake hands with many of the employees in Horsens. I really got the impression that everybody was very motivated and committed to the growth journey, that M&J is preparing for now,” Jyrki Vainionpää said.
Vainionpää was also thrilled to see that M&J had started to work with LEAN principles. “Keep up the good work with continuous improvement. All the small things and improvements each day matter. Everything counts”, he said.

Environmental technology is important
Ahlström is a long-term industrial owner, developing leading global specialist positions in Forest & Fiber and Environmental technology sectors.
“Ahlström considers M&J as a company in the centre of our investment strategy. M&J is a core asset and the first investment in environmental technology. It’s a company with a great purpose and an excellent opportunity to grow better and bigger. We see M&J as part of the solution of the environmental challenges the world is facing today. And especially M&J’s new electric shredders can make a big difference with the reduced energy consumption, so keep up the good and innovative work - the world needs it”, Jyrki Vainionpää concluded.
