At M&J Recycling, we have high ambitions to provide sustainable shredding solutions to the waste recycling industry.

Because of this, we continually improve our products as well as our internal processes in order to reduce their environmental impact. As a result, we have reduced our CO2 emissions by approx. 74% from 2019 to 2022.

Among other things, this has been achieved by:

• only using certified green energy (wind power with a neutral carbon footprint)
• reducing our power consumption in both the factory and administration
• transitioning to low-emission district heating
• using high-tech, energy-saving equipment

Additionally, we have introduced a new generation of pre-shredders with E-drive, that uses up to 50% less energy compared to hydraulic shredders.   

Our sustainability efforts recently earned us a nomination for a sustainability award named “The Green Award” (in Danish "Den Grønne Pris"). The award is given by Business Horsens, during the award show Horsens Inspire, to a company that has distinguished itself as a pioneer in the green transition, incorporating sustainability into its business model and strategy.

M&J Recycling was one of three finalists for the award. Business Horsens made the video below as a presentation for the judging panel.

In the end, the award was won by one of our customers. We are happy to know that our industrial waste shredder plays a part in their success.
